I thought everyone would find this article intrusting. It’s about a couple in South Korea who let their three month old daughter die of malnutrition, because they where playing an online game called Prius. The article states that they would leave there baby home alone in their apartment and feed her one bottle of milk a day in between their 12-hour playing stretches at an internet cafe. The crazy part is that on the Prius game they where nurturing and raising a virtual baby girl called, Anima, all the while ignoring their real one.

I saw this a while back, and I was appalled at how horrific this is. How can you neglect your own flesh and blood for an online world? I guess I can see internet as an 'addiction' but I really don't understand how parents can do that to their own child.
ReplyDelete"The couple told police of their guilt after their arrests.
"Due to our sense of guilt, we have not been to a PC gaming room over these five months," they said."
That's quoted from the article. I don't see in any way how not going to a PC gaming room is a suitable form of guilt. They obviously weren't ready to have a child, as they were not able to control their internet addiction.
