The Flip Side of Gaming

As we have discussed in class, gaming is a great way for social networking. However, when does gaming go from a great social networking virtual world to an addiction that creates physical life problems? This article discusses the addiction problems of gaming. I have never been a gamer myself so I cannot understand how gamers can get so involved in a game that it strains their real life relationships, however I found it very interesting (although incredibly sad) that the article said that games can be so addictive that they can actually be a cause for marital problems and child neglect. There are two sides to every coin. When played in moderation gaming seems to be a great way to socialize. This article shows us the flip side to what can happen to people who become too invested in their games.
