I remember in the first couple weeks of class one student alerted the rest of the class of a site called AshleyMadison.com. Since most of the class didn’t know what it was, Professor pulled the site up on the projector for all of us to see. As we all saw, it is a dating website for people who are in committed relationships, often married. The thought of such a website that people pay money for is horrendous. Who would possibly think of doing such a thing? Why pay money to have an affair? I thought about this website for a few days and couldn’t help but research a little more in to it. Later in the week I found a youtube clip that was about AshleyMadison.com. It was a news clip about the site and described how the site is now selling its commercials to TV stations to be played in cities like Boston, stations that many children have access to. The link is:

After watching the clip, I kind of forgot about the website because I thought it was a horrible thing – it’s awful for a website to make money off of cheating spouse. Not soon after I saw that clip did the news that Jesse James’ affair surface. As we all know, Jesse James was married to Oscar winner Sandra Bullock and had an affair with Michelle “Bombshell” McGee. Sometimes when I get bored, I read TMZ. One of the posts on TMZ read: “Bombshell McGee Gets Naked for Cheaters.” The article goes on to describe now Bombshell McGee will be the star in new AshleyMadison.com commercials, where she will be naked for some of the shots. TMZ reports that she will make $500/hour for the shoot plus a percentage of any new traffic she brings in for AshleyMadison.com. Not a surprise at all. The TMZ article link is:

I chose to write about this for the blog because it is outrageous that not only does this site exist, but that the site wants McGee to be their spokesperson. McGee broke apart Sandra Bullocks’ family and has caused Bullock and her stepchildren much pain. Although I in no way advocate for cheaters, this can be a lucrative business. So many businesses now have websites that allow consumers all over the world to have access to their business, so I guess a cheating website is no different.
