In this short article by Justin Davis of Social Games Central, it gives a “roundup” of all that was new in popular Facebook games from the week of May 17th. What is really interesting about this article is it was posted on IGN. IGN, an abbreviation for the former Imagine Games Network, is a large multimedia news and reviews website that focuses heavily on video games. Frequented by many major gamers, I was surprised to see an article on Facebook games on it. The website as a whole covers a specific area of entertainment in specific channels. Game-related channels include PC Games, Wii, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PSP, Xbox Live, Wireless, Retro, and iPhone games. In this article, it gives updates for games such as Farmville, Mafia Wars, and Restaurant City, etc. This leads me to believe that these games are more than just applications for the networking site, but are actually a very popular gaming source.
