Brave New World of Digital Intimacy

In lecture the past day we briefly discussed security with in facebook, and I believe one group even went into detail about it. After doing research for my group the past three to four weeks, I stumbled upon this article written in the New York Times. This article even touched on what my group is researching, and that is intimacy. One quote that I particularly enjoyed was, “Facebook users really think Facebook is becoming the Big Brother of the Internet, recording every single move.” In reality, this is what face book is doing. Documenting your life, when you tell facebook that you “hate Monday,” “skipping class b/c you’re hung over.” And after each party, when you stagger home to the dorm and upload pictures of the soused revelry, and spend the morning after commenting on how wasted everybody looked.” This article seemed fitting considering lecture yesterday.
